OUR MISSION

To be the community partner that improves the ability of our neighbors to support themselves “without worry.”
Through a three-tiered system, Sans Souci works tirelessly to combat poverty and encourage self-sufficiency in our community. Whether it’s providing free-of-charge necessity goods like clothing, shoes and winter coats, providing an affordable option for necessity items like furniture and household goods, or training individuals with weak labor market prospects to re-join the work force, Sans Souci works to create a place where everyone can live life “without worry.”
(Sans Souci is French, meaning “without worry!”)

Vision and Purpose
Sans Souci, Inc. (Sans Souci) envisions a world where society and its systems (e.g. education, criminal justice, health care, housing, the economy) are just, fair, inclusive and allow all people to participate and reach their full potential.
We believe in the dignity and humanity of all people. We strive to build a healthy and just society that engages with and respects all voices. We challenge the systems and causes of discrimination through the lens of social justice. We recognize that fair access and opportunity is a human right regardless of age, race, economic circumstance, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic disposition, disability, veteran status or any other characteristic that makes someone unique. We value diversity and celebrate its power to impact and improve our lives. We know that to achieve our vision, we must do our part. We must lead with compassion and take action in our communities to create a better world.
Values and Principles
Our values are guided by compassion, inclusion, trust, love, empowerment of all voices and respect for human dignity.
Through a commitment to sustained actions over time, we will:
- Advance equity in our society and systems
- Champion equity as a basic human right and it benefits everyone
- Challenge injustice and untruths at play in society today as a proactive response to hate
- Address the dynamics and role our system plays in perpetuating oppression
- Value and engage all voices in this conversation – especially those who have lived experience
