To ensure our resources are directed toward those who are actively working to improve their situation, general assistance is offered by referral only through certified United Way agencies and select public service partners. This referral-based approach allows us to support individuals who are engaged with case managers and taking concrete steps toward self-sufficiency. In addition, we recognize that securing employment is a vital part of achieving stability. That’s why anyone - whether an agency, employer, or community member - can request steel toe boots for work. By removing this financial barrier, we help individuals take the first step toward employment, independence, and long-term success.
